Overview:

According to Wikipedia, Grand Rounds have historically been a methodology of medical education consisting of presenting the medical problems and treatment of a particular patient to an audience consisting of doctors, pharmacists, residents, and medical students.

The Adjunct Education Committee of the National Orthopaedic Division is initiating Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Grand Rounds

Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Grand Rounds 7 was presented online on  February 1, 2022 and this is the recording from that presentation.

The case is a very active 41-year-old  with chronic left knee pain. The patient first noticed the knee pain in May of 2021, then had a sudden onset of low back and pelvic pain. Since then, the patient has been unable to run more than 1km without severe knee pain. Her first referral to see a physiotherapist was in September 2021, with the main goal of being able to resume her regular 5K runs. Topics discussed include a loss of pelvic control (common in runners), patellofemoral syndrome, and thoracic and midfoot restriction. The panelists provide insight into interventions including improving pelvic and knee control, traction manipulation,
