Level II Certification in Medical Therapeutic Yoga. This Certification will also help you work toward the Integrative Lifestyle Medicine qualification. The full Professional Yoga Therapist Certification requires completing Levels I, II, and III.

Course Description

This is the second of three trainings in the dual certification program, Medical Therapeutic Yoga (MTY) and Integrative Lifestyle Medicine. This module expands on concepts learned in the Level 1 training by discussing the relationship between orthopedic and gastrointestinal health and the associated risk factors that impact clinical practice and outcomes.

Lifestyle Medicine foundations are expanded to include developing a working understanding of the gut-brain-body axis, sleep science, environmental impacts on health, stress management, and more advanced mindful movement and breathwork.

This course is:

  • Interactive,
  • On-demand (instantly available!)
  • Self-paced, and
  • Entirely online!
  • It also includes a Call Calendar, where you will complete 7 hours of Live Training with faculty mentors. Calls are ongoing and available WEEKLY! This kind of constant support is unprecedented for a CE offering.

All of the techniques you learn in this level are:

  • Telehealth friendly
  • COVID sensitive
  • Trauma informed
  • Group coaching friendly
  • Not just for in-person care

PLUS:

You will have lifetime access for the duration of the course. Our courses are typically updated every 3 to 5 years to ensure they remain current and informed by the best available evidence. You can return to the course at any time during this period. If any material is updated or added, you will have access to the new content throughout the life of the course.

What you will need to participate:

  • A dedicated computer that can run Zoom
  • Hardwire internet (better than a wifi connection, which can be unstable, although using wifi is fine)
  • Your yoga equipment - you will get an email with a list of equipment you will need
  • Modules 3-4 from the ILM Certificate (see prerequisites below)
  • Optional - a patient model that you can "teach" during the on-demand lab sessions (not the live interactive session) to practice your skills, although this isn't required. You can certainly practice the poses yourself.

28 CEs are awarded for PT/PTAs in most states and all OT/COTAs (AOTA). See details at bottom of page.

Take the Integrative Lifestyle Medicine Certificate Modules 3-4, which is included as part of the Level 2 Bundle.
