The instructors
This evidence-informed webinar will teach assessment considerations for physiotherapists working with pregnant individuals presenting with orthopaedic symptoms or exercise inquiries.
Webinar content includes precautions/contraindications, prenatal assessment, a review of clinical practice guidelines, exercise prescription, and patient education. Prior experience in prenatal care or pelvic health is not required.
This webinar is intended for orthopaedic or women’s health physiotherapists who would like to increase their confidence in working with the prenatal population (physiotherapy students/assistants and allied health professionals are also welcomed to attend).
Upon completion of this workshop participants will be able to:
- Integrate a prenatal assessment tool into clinical practice.
- Select and prescribe appropriate treatment techniques for the prenatal population.
- Access patient and clinician resources for prenatal physiotherapy care
The instructors

Jessica Bergevin is a physiotherapist who practices within the women’s health and orthopaedic landscape rurally in Nova Scotia. Her academic background is comprised of a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Dalhousie University and a Masters of Physiotherapy from Queens University. Jessica is currently completing a Doctor of Science in Rehabilitation and Health Leadership with the goal of improving prenatal care in Nova Scotia. She loves Pilates, skating, court and beach volleyball, botany, and wiener dogs.
