Overview:
Inspired by the academic work of the International Physiotherapy History Association, through this dynamic presentation the author will bring the history of the profession alive and into the consciousness of participants, creating a living narrative for current, future and past practitioners of the physiotherapy profession.
Speaker:
Sarah Marshall, PT, PhD (c), is a faculty lecturer at the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy, McGill University, Montreal, Quebec. Sarah is a former President of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and is a founding member of the International Physiotherapy History Association. She has been a physiotherapist for over three decades, and enjoys lecturing, studying and debating on topics such as health promotion, seniors' health, and the value of healthy lifestyles. Sarah's interest in history is linked to her middle name: Catherine Marshall was Sarah's great-aunt, who was a suffragist in the UK in the early years of the 20th century and has inspired a respect of history and the importance of documenting it.
