What is mental health? What is the role of physiotherapists in an interdisciplinary mental health team? What is the background? Is the assessment and treatment are different? 

Our goal: Prevention and promotion to promote health and well being for all ages. The objective of this presentation will be to discuss the role and challenges of physiotherapists in mental health.

Speaker: Marcia Aquino

Marcia Aquino, PT, is a Physiotherapist at Douglas Mental Health University Institute, specializing in Oncology and Bioethics, as well as experience with patients in palliative care, dementia and geriatric psychiatry. Marcia is a stage supervisor in Physiotherapy at Douglas Mental Health University Institute, CIUSSS Ouest de lîle de Montreal, QC, Canada. The department of Physiotherapy at Douglas has just one physiotherapist.
