Case: 

This month’s case is A 60-year-old female dental office manager, coping with severe neck and shoulder pain as well as being diagnosed with fibromyalgia 5 years ago. 

This case will be presented online on Wednesday, January 25th at 8 pm EST.

Member of the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP)

Bahram graduated from U of T in 1992 year, University of Queensland in 1999 and Andrews University in 2009. He is the founder and director of Advanced Physical Therapy Education Institute (APTEI) and has been a chief instructor of postgraduate orthopaedic clinical courses across Canada and internationally. He has presented at several national and international conferences, and he continues to practice at Athletes Care at York University in Toronto.

Panelist: Jeff Begg PT, FCAMPT, Clinical Specialist (MSK)

Jeff is a full-time clinician with 26 years of private practice experience in both the US and Canada. In 2014 he qualified as Edmonton’s first CPA-certified Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist (MSK). For 20 years he was a clinical educator with the University of Alberta, and since 2014 he has provided Fellowship mentoring to registered physiotherapists.  Jeff is the chief instructor for the Physiotherapy Guild (physiotherapyguild.ca) an organization dedicated to advancing physiotherapists to clinical mastery, through fellowship mentoring.

 

Panelist: Rhonda Reardon

Rhonda holds a number of educational successes: Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from U of Saskatchewan, Diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Therapy with the National Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, Masters of Rehabilitation Science at McMaster University are to name a few.

Rhonda has been involved in the physiotherapy profession serving on a number of related boards. She also is a past Co-Chair of the National Orthopaedic Division Symposium. In the realm of post-graduate education, she was the provincial course organizer for Kinetic Control and a founding member of the Atlantic Manual Therapy Institute.

Evidence-based practice and patient-centered care are key elements of her practice. With a focus on neuromusculoskeletal health, her clinical interest is in movement analysis and rehabilitation of the patient helping the individual achieve their functional goals.

 

Panelist: Neil Pearson PT, MSc(RHBS), BA-BPHE, C-IAYT, ERYT500 

Neil is a physical therapist, yoga therapist, researcher, Clinical Associate Professor at UBC, and faculty in three IAYT-accredited yoga therapy programs. He is the founding chair of CPA’s Pain Science Division, and the recipient of awards honouring his work in pain care, patient education and physiotherapy by Queen’s University, the Canadian Pain Society, and Physiotherapy Associations of BC and Canada, including the Canadian 2021 Medal of Distinction.  He co-authored – Yoga and Science in Pain Care 2019, authored Understand Pain Live Well Again in 2008, and is lead contributor to many free patient resources offer by Pain BC.
