As we usher in the new year, we are thrilled to unveil a stellar lineup of enlightening and transformative webinars designed to elevate your expertise as a pelvic floor clinician. 

Let’s Talk Pelvic Health - A Webinar Series for HCPs is a free webinar series on the theme of pelvic health covering various sessions presented by a diverse spectrum of health professionals.

From pelvic floor exercises (beyond kegels) to yin yoga and sensorimotor dysregulation, this series will provide you with valuable knowledge to add to your clinical toolbox to optimize care for your patients. 

All sessions presented will be free for all healthcare professionals (HCPs) interested in learning more about the importance of pelvic health.

Audience

This free webinar series is available for all healthcare professionals and is intended for those interested in pelvic health. 

All of our patients have a pelvis, so even if you are in orthopaedic practice, this series is applicable.

It is critical that all orthopaedic, sports medicine, and pelvic health professionals recognize and have skills to address the relationship of the pelvis with the rest of the body. 

If your patient has a pelvis, this series is for you!

There's a maximum of 500 seats available in the webinar room. If you cannot attend live, please do not register. This will allow people who can attend live to ask questions and interact with the instructor.

If you can't join live, not to worry! We will stream the live webinar to our YouTube channel and leave it up for 48 hours after the live webinar. You can subscribe to Embodia's YouTube channel here.

The instructors
Surabhi Veitch
HBScKin, MScPT, MClSc, FCAMPT

Surabhi Veitch (she/her), owner of The Passionate Physio, is an experienced Toronto-based Orthopaedic & Pelvic Physiotherapist, FCAMPT and Pregnancy & Postpartum Athleticism Coach. Through in-person and virtual care, she specializes in supporting people through major life transitions like pregnancy, postpartum and perimenopause. She aims to create a trauma- and culturally-sensitive space that welcomes folks from marginalized communities. She empowers her clients to reduce fear, trust their bodies, and get active, regardless of symptoms or diagnoses. Surabhi treats various conditions including back and pelvic-girdle pain, hip and knee injuries, urinary incontinence, urgency and prolapse. She also loves to help people prepare for birth, rebuild core and pelvic floor strength postpartum, and return to exercise, sport, and intimacy (which is also a physical activity!). She uses a whole-person approach to pelvic health, considering mental health, lifestyle, cultural and socioeconomic factors in treatment planning.

Surabhi believes most people could benefit from getting active and lifting weights. Her signature online BASE Fitness Membership helps folks strengthen the whole body through pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. Surabhi runs her own podcast, Mom Strength, and mentors fellow PTs in reducing burnout while achieving business and career goals. Surabhi tries to make space for her passions, which currently include dancing, eating good food, and chasing after her 2 amazing kids.


Lindsey Vestal
MS, OTR/L

Lindsey graduated as an OT from NYU in 2011 destined to be in pelvic health. She followed her destiny, knowing she was going to be a double horned unicorn. Not many people know what OT is and add in pelvic health, well, she knew she had to perfect her elevator speech. She became the proud founder of the first in-home pelvic health practice in NYC (the Functional Pelvis) run by an OT. Now, she teaches OTs how to become rock star pelvic floor therapists (aka double horned unicorns.). She has had the honor of supporting more than 1,000 OTs in becoming pelvic health therapists. Her goal is that 10,000 OTs are trained in Pelvic Health by 2030! Lindsey thrives on being a connector to bring people together so that both therapists and clients alike can thrive.

She is the host of a weekly live show called "OT Empower Hour" on her Facebook group OTs for Pelvic Health which has over 6,000 members. There are over 150 hours of free training available. She is also the host of her weekly highly rated podcast "OTs in Pelvic Health" empowering fellow OTs with the path to take to have a successful and fulfilling career in pelvic health.


Maggie Bergeron
PT, Co-Founder of Embodia

Maggie Bergeron is a registered physiotherapist who received her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from McMaster University in 2009 after completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Ottawa where she played on the women's water polo team.

Maggie is the co-founder of Embodia. She continues to see a small caseload of patients virtually and holds a Status-Only Appointment (lecturer ranking) with the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto.


Shelly Prosko
PT, C-IAYT, PCAYT

Shelly is a physiotherapist, yoga therapist, educator, author and pioneer of PhysioYoga who has been integrating yoga into physiotherapy since 1998 with a focus on chronic pain, pelvic health, compassion in healthcare and professional burnout. She guest lectures at numerous yoga therapy and physiotherapy schools, presents at yoga and medical conferences globally, contributes to academic research and writing, provides mentorship to professionals, and offers courses and resources for yoga and healthcare practitioners and the general population. Shelly is a Pain Care Aware Lead Trainer.

She considers herself a lifelong student and emphasizes the immense value gained from clinical experience and learning from the patients she serves, the professionals she teaches, and the colleagues with which she collaborates.

Shelly has written several book chapters in yoga therapy and integrative rehabilitation textbooks and is co-editor/author of Yoga and Science in Pain Care: Treating the Person in Pain. She maintains a clinical practice in Sylvan Lake, Alberta, Canada and believes compassion is the foundation of healthcare and overall well-being.

Carolyn Vandyken
BHSc (PT)

Carolyn is the co-owner of Reframe Rehab, a teaching company engaged in breaking down the barriers internationally between pelvic health, orthopaedics and pain science. Carolyn has practiced in orthopaedics and pelvic health for the past 37 years. She is a McKenzie Credentialled physiotherapist (1999), certified in acupuncture (2002), and obtained a certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in 2017.

Carolyn received the YWCA Women of Distinction award (2004) and the distinguished Education Award from the OPA (2015). Carolyn was recently awarded the Medal of Distinction from the Canadian Physiotherapy Association in 2021 for her work in pelvic health and pain science.

Carolyn has been heavily involved in post-graduate pelvic health education, research in lumbopelvic pain, speaking at numerous international conferences and writing books and chapters for the past twenty years in pelvic health, orthopaedics and pain science.


Nicole Cozean
PT, DPT, WCS

Founder of Pelvic PT Rising, PelvicSanity Pelvic Health and Wellness, and author of The Pelvic PT Rising podcast and The IC Solution

Nicole Cozean is a pelvic health specialist, author, and entrepreneur dedicated to changing the way we do pelvic health.

Her clinic, PelvicSanity specializes in treating complex pelvic health cases and is one of the largest cash-based practices in the country.

Realizing that helping others find business success would ultimately benefit the most patients, Nicole’s Pelvic PT Rising business mentorship and Business Accelerator Program has helped more than 400 pelvic health practices start, hire, grow and scale. And helping owners create a business that truly works for them and their needs!

With a passion for mentorship and raising the pelvic health field, Nicole has helped trained more than 1,500 pelvic rehab providers with online courses. These teach frameworks to progress patients and create more confident, competent clinicians.

Along with Jessica Reale, Nicole co-founded the annual PelviCon conference – the first conference by and for pelvic health, bringing together the brightest minds and more than 400 leaders in the field for an incredible in-person event.

Nicole and her husband Jesse do the Pelvic PT Rising podcast, the #1 pelvic health podcast with nearly 400 ‘sodes all about clinical expertise, business growth and life. Nicole also began the Pelvic PT Huddle, where 9,000 clinicians can collaborate, learn and grow together. She created the Pelvic PT/OT Entrepreneurs group, the largest group of pelvic health entrepreneurs learning together as we grow.

Doug Vestal
Ph.D., Owner of Freedom of Practice

Doug Vestal, Ph.D., is the owner of Freedom of Practice where he helps therapists break the shackles of the insurance world by starting their own private pay practice.

He and his wife (an OT) founded their highly successful private pay practice specializing in pelvic floor therapy in NYC in 2014 called The Functional Pelvis. Doug focused on business strategy while his wife was client facing. He leverages his over 15 years working on Wall Street and running a private pay practice to help therapists cut through the noise, simplify their efforts, and build the practice of their dreams with less headaches and frustration. The best job he's ever had is being a Dad to 2 wonderful kids.


Dr. Jessica Reale
PT, DPT, WCS

Dr. Jessica Reale, PT, DPT, WCS is a pelvic rehab provider and board-certified specialist in women's health. She is passionate about educating clinicians to improve their outcomes for patients with pelvic health complaints, and she has educated thousands of professionals in their pelvic health journeys through various educational endeavors. She is the co-founder of PelviCon~ a conference for pelvic rehab providers, by pelvic rehab providers that brings over 600 clinicians together each year to grow in community and knowledge. Additionally, she co-founded Pelvic Floor University, where she teaches regularly and coordinates education aimed at providing affordable and practical clinical knowledge for pelvic rehab providers.

Since 2018, she has also regularly coordinated a small group mentoring program for pelvic rehab providers, with hundreds of professionals completing her program. Jessica is passionate about progressing research in pelvic health and clinical care. She was published in 2019 in Sexual Medicine Reviews on "The role of physical therapy in sexual health in men and women: Evaluation and treatment," and has multiple current research endeavors underway. She owns and treats patients at Southern Pelvic Health, a multiclinic practice in the metro Atlanta Area dedicated to providing high-quality care for all ages and all genders experiencing pelvic health dysfunction. She lives in Atlanta, GA with her husband and two daughters, Emma (6) and Mary (4).


Amber Morphy
Music and Yoga Teacher, Canada Certified Yin Yoga Instructor, All Things Pelvic

Amber began her yoga journey in 2002. In realizing the importance of yoga to prevent and recover from injuries, she trained in a variety of styles of yoga and now specializes in YIN. Amber received her Fitness Theory course and Group Instructors through the YMCA, followed by a CPTN yoga certification. Amber then took her YIN Certification with Bernie Clark in 2009. She continued her training in Ashtanga with Danny Paradise and Power Yoga with Eoin Finn and Caron Sheply. Most recent courses include Yoga Anatomy with Ray Long and Leslie Kaminoff.

In 2013, Amber began studying the connection between yoga and pelvic health. She has taken several courses through Reframe Rehab and Pelvic Health Solutions. She now teaches yoga exclusively for clients referred by Pelvic Health therapists. Amber has taught yoga throughout the Waterloo Region. She has worked clinically for Pelvic Health Solutions, LifeMark and now All Things Pelvic and Reframe Rehab. Through this work, she provides clients and physiotherapists the opportunity to experience the benefits of the YIN practice.
