Case:
This month’s case involves a case is a 69-year-old male with ORIF due to a comminuted fracture through the left proximal femur as well as bilateral multiple costal fractures with a history of left pneumothorax and pleural effusion post MVC Nov 2021. Comfort and function have been plateauing over the last 4 months. Has he reached maximum medical recovery? Will this formerly active grandfather, outdoorsman and shade tree mechanic have to settle for walks in the mall with a cane and handing wrenches to his buddies?
Case Presenter: Gerry Ross, Reg PT, HBScPT, FCAMT, CGIMS,
Gerry has a keen interest in outpatient community care as well as private practice management and mentorship. He began practicing in a general hospital in 1992 prior to entering private practice in 1995. He founded the Georgetown CBI Health site (formerly Ross Physiotherapy Solutions) in 1999 and he continues to work as a clinician at this location. In addition to his roles as clinician and clinic manager, Gerry is a member of CBI Health's training and development team and is a mentor with the Orthopedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.

Panelist: Mathew Pulickal BSc. PT, MSc. PT, MSCl PT
Mathew received his Human Kinetics and Biochemistry from the University of Ottawa in 1997 and then his degree in Physiotherapy and a Masters degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Alberta in 2001. In 2004, Mathew obtained his Masters in Physiotherapy from the University of Alberta. He is a Certified Exercise Physiologist and is certified in Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS). He completed a Masters in Clinical Science at the University of Western Ontario in 2013 and obtained his Advanced Manual Therapy certification and is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT). Mathew has a very extensive background in the fields of sports, rehabilitation and chronic pain. He is presently is a running consultant for a few national level runners.

Jill Robertson has been a practicing physiotherapist for 37 years. She was a part-time academic instructor at Dalhousie University for 26 years. Jill is an instructor and Lead Examiner for the Orthopaedic Division and a Clinical Specialist in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. She is a past Chair and Treasurer of the National Orthopaedic Division and the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy. Jill’s Master’s thesis measured the effects of manual therapy and exercise on hip active range of motion. Jill teaches a short course on the Assessment and Treatment of the Thoracic Spine.
Panelist: Linda-Joy Lee, BSc(Chem); BSc(PT); PhD
A physiotherapy graduate from the University of British Columbia, Canada, and UBC Wesbrook Scholar (1996), “LJ” became a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manual and Manipulative Therapists (FCAMT) in 1999 and completed her certification in Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) in 2001. A life-long learner with an ever-questioning mind, LJ pursued a research degree part-time and remotely at the University of Queensland over many years while working clinically, mentoring her Synergy Team, and teaching internationally. In 2013 she was awarded her PhD, which focused on Motor Control & Kinematics of the Thorax, based on researching the innovative clinical ideas from her Thoracic Ring Approach™ model.
