This session will provide an overview of the role of patient reported outcomes for assessing patient outcomes after ACL reconstruction in clinical research and clinical practice. Additionally, the session will cover the importance of understanding individual patient perspectives and integrating psychosocial considerations into clinical care.
Objectives
- Understand what patient reported outcomes are and how they can be integrated into clinical care effectively.
- Explore patient experiences, preferences, priorities, and perceptions of quality of life following ACL injury and reconstruction.
- Consider environmental and psychological factors that may influence outcomes after ACL reconstruction.
- Consider how we might address these factors, utilizing a more biopsychosocial approach to care following ACL injury and reconstruction.

Speaker Bio: Dr. Hana Marmura
Dr. Hana Marmura is a postdoctoral fellow in the Psychology of Sports Injury Lab at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Previously, Hana completed a combined MPT PhD degree at Western University in London, ON. Her PhD research focused on patient reported outcomes and patient perspectives following ACL reconstruction. In her current role, Hana is leading research on psychologically informed rehabilitation interventions following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with the goal of reducing injury related fear for athletes.
