Train the Trainer Part 3: Recording 101
When choosing where to record, you must consider what noises might be picked up in this space. Microphones are quite sensitive and can pick up sounds that our ears might tune out, so you should take a moment to actively listen for unwanted noise. These can include: air conditioning, dishwashers, refrigerators, washing machines, dogs barking, squeaky furniture, people talking, TVs or radios playing, and really anything else that could make noise. It’s also worth mentioning that jingly jewelry and audible clothing rubbing can be picked up. All of these sources of noise should be avoided as much as possible.
